Submission Guidelines

HOW TO SUBMIT:

Please email your submission to info@readthevault.com.  We accept submissions year-round. There is no charge to submit your work.

All submissions must be in pdf or word format, 12-point type, double-spaced, with at least 1” margins.  DO NOT NUMBER YOUR PAGES.

The author’s name, address, telephone number, email address and word count should be in the email you use for submission, but NOT ON YOUR PAGES.

We are an all-volunteer staff reading work as closely and carefully as possible. Please wait six months before querying regarding the status of submissions.

WORD COUNT:

Submission categories and word limits are as follows:

·      Shorts (500 words, any genre)

·      Fiction (5,000 words)

·      Memoir (5,000 words)

·      Essay (5,000 words)

Poetry (10-page limit, single-spaced, except to indicate a new stanza, maximum of 4 poems per submission).

Fiction and Memoir submissions may be excerpts from longer works.  Submissions exceeding the maximum word count will only be reviewed at the editors’ discretion.

SIMULTANEOUS SUBMISSIONS:

We accept simultaneous submissions. If you submit to multiple sources and are accepted to another publication, please let us know.
